Mystic Tan Preparation
Before a Mystic Tan session clients should follow a few simple guidelines to get the best Mystic Tan results possible.
Exfoliate
The day before receiving a Mystic Tan, clients are encouraged to come into Santa Fe Sun Tanning and purchase a bottle of Mystic Tans Mystic Ready body wash immediately prior to coming to the salon for their Mystic Tan session. Mystic Ready is a gentle foaming cleanser with synthetic micro beads to polish away dead skin without damaging healthy new skin, leaving a perfect even skin surface. Mystic Ready also does not contain any moisturizing ingredients that interfere with the absorption and development of the Mystic Tan solution.
Shaving/Waxing
Any shaving or waxing should be done 24 hours prior to a Mystic tan. Also be sure to wash off any residue from wax or shaving creams from all shaved areas before doing a Mystic Tan session. Be sure not to apply ANY MOISTURIZERS, MAKEUP or DEODERANTS before a Mystic Tan session as they will interfere with the development of the Mystic Tan.
Clothing
Mystic Tan solution will come out of most clothing. Elastic waist bands, silk, spandex and rayon are fabrics that the solution will not come out of. Santa Fe Sun Tanning recommends that you bring a change of clothes or that you wear loose fitting, older clothing the day you come in to do a Mystic Tan. Also pay close attention to things like bra straps, the solution will not come out of elastic banding in clothes so wear older or dark colored undergarments to the salon before a Mystic Tan. (Wearing clothing such as bathing suits or undergarments inside the booth during your Mystic Tan session is not recommended.)
Mystic Tan Recommends
Clients balance the hydration and PH levels of their skin prior to a Mystic Tan session. The Mystic Tan products Enhancer and Hydrator should be used immediately prior to the sunless session to insure the skin is evenly hydrated and the PH is at the optimum level for Mystic Tanning. DHA, which is the active ingredient in the Mystic Tan solution, reacts with the amount of hydration in the skin so using Mystic Tan's Hydrator ensures that clients get the deepest darkest longest lasting tan possible without blocking the development of the Mystic Tan solution. Mystic Tan's Enhancer balances the skins PH levels and adds amino acids to the skin where needed making sure clients don’t get that "orangey" look. Enhancer also speeds up the development of a Mystic Tan, so it is great for clients who can only keep the solution on for a limited amount of time before showering.
